Smile Yoghurt and Dessert Bar
G/F, 65 Lion Rock Road, Kowloon City

Yesterday I had a sort of afternoon tea at a dessert bar, called Smile. And it was yummy!  For many the decision on a restaurants quality depends on this simple question: “Would you go back?”  This time I can certainly reply in the positive: yes, I would go back.

They serve frozen yoghurt (among other things), and it is not your regular everyday froyo shop you see around Hong Kong.  The best way to describe it is as a gourmet yoghurt.  It has such interesting flavors, such as a clear lychee sauce with “gwei fa” jello and a raspberry mikado stick. This particular one was called “The Garden”.

We (me and my friend) also shared a “Warm Pudding Duet”.  It had a molten hot chocolate cake, bread pudding, and vanilla ice cream to go with it.  The molten hot chocolate cake was absolutely splendid and was perfectly moist.  Warm, melted chocolate gushes out from the inside as soon as you break it.  My only concern that it is quite rich and heavy, but other than that it was heavenly.  I could not say the bread pudding was special, but it was a very good bread pudding and went well with the vanilla ice cream.

Here are some mikado sticks that they sell.  We bought explosive chocolate and raspberry flavors.
